I installed XP a few days ago. This morning my display
was perfect (filled the entire screen). I went out for
awhiel and when I came back, back the desktop display is
in a small box in the center of the screen. Have tried
rebooting (warm & cold) -- the XP splash screen comes up
normally filling the entire screen, but when windows
opens, its in a small box in the center of the screen. I
can hardly read this print and the display is set at 800
x 600. Any ideas as to the problem would be appreciated!

The refresh rate is probably incorrect.

First check the monitor specifications for refresh rates and write
them down along with the resolution.

Then restart your machine in SAFE mode (press F8 during POST). When
in SAFE mode open the video settings and set the correct refresh rate
for the monitor. Restart in normal mode.
