Is there a setting so that when I open Windows Explorer it will open at a
certain point (e.g. Drive C) ? I know I had XP do that but have long forgot
how it was done and cannot find a place in VISTA to do it.

Easiest way I find is to right click on Computer and then Explore...

I am sure there are ways to set it up via the shortcut properties to jump to
C:\ etc, or to default to some setting via registry - just haven't seen that
info anywhere yet...

Yeah I can always scroll down to find drive C then expand but I am looking
for a way to have it expand drive C automatically whenever I open Windows
Explorer.

Right-click on a Windows Explorer shortcut and choose Properties. In the
"Target" box enter (without the quotes) "%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e, c:\"
That will make it open to the root of drive C. You can add a folder name to
the end of "c:\" if you want to get more specific.

Ta much, had set something similar on older XP machine (now sadly departed),
and just hadn't gotten around to tracking this down... it works...

Just drag the c:\ drive to your desktop and make a shortcut to it.
