display messed up.. and i cannot reset

After running an online game, I received the message that a device error was
detected. A new driver was found for my Radeon 9000. I installed the new
driver, and my graphics were messed up.....
While attempting to increase the size of the icons, I accidentally reset the
display to 'custom size' - the danged menu had a scroll button that did not
'lock' - my selection of normal size was 'scrolled' to 200%

Now, when i go to control panel, display, and click settings, I can select
the normal.... but the APPLY button is NOT on my screen... the window is too
big. No attempt to resize the window or move it will make it so I can access
the 'apply' button.
Closing the window does not reset the display. Everything is oversized and
my laptop is flat out unusable. How can I reset the display size if i can't
reach the button?

Press <enter>

If that does not succeed, press <alt-spacebar>, then the M key. Use the
arrow keys to move the window until the button is available for clicking.
If the arrows do nothing, press NUMlock first.

Thanks.. managed to reset.

Driver update was a bad idea though. I cannot get my laptop to look like it
used to. The text in inner windows (right now, when I am composing email) is
ok.. even largeish. But the toolbars, icons, and window 'titles' (whatever
you call the printing in the box on the top where the resize and close
buttons are) are miniscule. Less than 3/16 inch high.

I have tried various display settings for font size, icons, and dpi (is how
I got the infamous window too big to access), but they do not seem to affect
the toolbar text and icon size.
Worse for me, tho, is that the menus within my applications (notably
QuickBooks) use the same defaults as windows... so they are messed up as
well.

I'm stuck now.. unless I can find some place to obtain my previous driver,
and can figure out how to uninstall the new broken one.

Learned my lesson tho... NEVER 'obtain latest updated drivers' for you
system. If it works, it works..... if it is new, then even if Bill Gates
himself came to my house to oversee the install, I would not accept.
