Display flipped 90 degrees

Some accidental combination of keyboard keys has flipped the display in XP by
90 degrees. Trying to find the parameter to return it to normal vertical
position.

Right-click on the desktop and choose Properties. You should be
able to find the option there.
 
What type of video card are you using?If it's a NVIDIA card or adapter,
right-click on desktop and select:

Properties > Settings > Advanced > GeForce (tab) > NVRotate
and change the setting to "Landscape (0 degree rotation)".
