I recently had a malware removed from my computer using a spyware removal
tool. Ironically malware was an advertisement for a spyware removal tool. The
malware cause my Desktop display, a picture of my favourite football star
with my son to be hidden behind a red screen with an advertisment for some
spyware removal program. I used my spyware to remove which removed the
advertisement and the red screen but now my display is white. I can see the
picture of my preferred display at the edges. I have used the control panel
settings and rebooted but the white-out of my desktop continues.

Hi,

Have you tried reselecting the image from Display properties? Normally the
image is overlayed on the background color. Sometimes switching to another
image and then back will resolve this issue.

Go to Display Properties. Right click on a blank area of the desktop |
Properties | Desktop | Customize Desktop | Web | Untic any objects under
"Web pages", and untic "Lock desktop items". Ok out.
