In Outlook, when I use Search or Organise, the display scrolls down very
slowly and eventually crashes 9 out of 10 times. Message comes up mentioning
a problem with SiSV256. Checking in my computer that is the SiS Framebuffer
Display Driver. Version 5.12.1.1300. Also a reference/Name SiSV256 1.30.08
DLL. Also SiS(R) 5598/6326 Display Driver for Windows 2000.
Some time ago a message came up after I rebooted saying that there was a
software download somewhere to correct this problem, but I was in middle of
work and ignored it. It hasn't come back again!
How to I correct this problem?

Go to the web site of your mobo/laptop - its onboard video? - and download
updated vid.driver
If it happens to be a vid.card go to their web site

Thanks DL. Need a little more clarification. Computer was bought 2nd hand,
but problem only started, i think, when I upgraded to a Flatron LG screen.
I've tried reinstalling the software that came with that, but no change. Is
it the Flatron LG web site I should go to?

No, leastways check LG site for any updated driver and install if found, but
more likely to be your PC vid.driver.
If you dont have bumph on the PC components, one of these should help
identify your vid.

Its important you correctly identify as to whether
1) onboard (built into mobo) or
2) seperate vid.card
If (1) visit mobo manu.web site
If (2) vid.card site
However if a laptop, or proprietry brand PC eg Dell, visit PC manu site

Do NOT use winupdate for drivers
