Disk Recovery

I recently saved a very important office document on my A:/ drive. After
saving it, I opened it once and made minor changes. Now I cannot recover the
doc at work or at home. It says a fatal error occured. Is there any way to
recover this?? It's very important! Thank you!

We can't guess what application you used to save your document, so here's
some generic advice.

The diskette itself may be damaged. Try copyng the file to the hard drive
and opening it from there.

Try opening the document in Wordpad or Notepad. You'll be able to recover
the text (only) from your file.

Is it as simple as just opening WordPad and opening my document? Thanks.

It may or may not be.

What application program did you use to create the original document?
How large was the document?

If the document was originally created with Microsoft Word and if it
contains only formatted text then you should be able to open it in
Wordpad. However if the document contains graphics or if it was not
created with Microsoft Word then there may be issues. But you still
may be able to recover at least most of the text.

Good luck
