Disk or network error

I have one user who has been getting a Disk or Network Error a lot. At
first, I noticed he had no DNS setting in his IP config so I set it. The
error stopped for a while. Now it is reappearing.

This user has consistantly refused to logoff, claiming he forgets, so his
login stays active all the time. Could this no logging off be generating the
admittedly vague error message.
