Disk Management problems

Having problems with Disk Manager. No drives are showing drive letters -
explorer does though - I can not mount a disk at a mount point and none of
the existing mount points work. I had just move My Documents to a mount point
and rebooted so I do not know what I might have done wrong or how to put it
right. And no, I did not have system restore turned on so I can not undo it
easily. Any ideas?

You can assign drive letters with Disk Management.

Open your screen to full size so you can see all the drives.
Highlite one of the drives,
click Action at the top and All Tasks,
Select Change Drive Letter and Paths.

Click Change and select a letter.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I know HOW to do it, it just wont work!
When I select the change drive letter I get an empty box - it should show me
the current assignements. I can not mount the partition at a mount point (it
says it can not "find" the path. If I do change the drive letter, which it
will let me do, it shows the drive letters for a fraction of a second and
then goes back to showing nothing!

I really want to use a mount point and this and diskpart will not do it and
there is nothing in the event logs to show why!

Tim, it sounds like you have some system files missing.
Go to Start-Run and type SFC /SCANNOW
Have your XP CD handy to install for reference.
