i dont know if im having a problem or not, whenever i use
the analyze command in disk defragmenter it says i should
degragment the volume, however when i do run the
defragmenter the percentages for file fragmentation and
total fragmentation stay the same, and if i run analyze
again it once says i should defragment

can anyone advise me?

Defragmenting takes a very long time if you haven't done so in awhile. Just
let it run for an hour, you'll see some results. Note: if you defrag once a
day, the process shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

i defragment atleast 3times a week,it takes about 10mins
max and afterwords the analyze report is exactly the same
as before i defragmented.

It is practically impossible to have a hard drive that is fragment free.
Some files, such as system files, cannot be moved, so the report is probably
the same because there is nothing left to defragment (all os files).

thanks Tim, i tried both suggestions and my file
fragmentation and total fragmentation is down to 0%,
before it was sitting at 29% and 14% and i couldnt clear
it at all

Thanks again, Elaine
