Disk Cleanup

Whenever I go to System Tools and try to run the Disk
Cleanup, it seems to start and then suddenly stall, and
never starts up or does anything.
Can anyone help me with this?

When you run the Disk Cleanup utility, the program may stop responding
(hang) while scanning for compressed files.

CAUSE
This issue occurs when there is an incorrect entry in the registry that is
used by the Disk Cleanup utility to locate compressed files..
