Hi. I run Disk Cleanup from the system tools menu now and then to clean up
any unused files on the hard drive. For the heck of it, I went to "Search"
and typed in *.tmp and it came back with 800 tmp files. When I run Disk
Clean up, only a fraction are displayed, why is this? Most of the temp
files I found using "search" were a year or so old, so I don't think Disk
Clean up skipped them because they were in use? Thanks in advance for your
help.

I think Disk Cleanup only searches for .TMP files in the TEMP directory. The
files you found via search might have been located elsewhere.

I did. I was just curious why it didn't notice those particular files.
Thanks!!
