Disk Cleanup won't work.

I routinely run Disk Cleanup...when I tried to run it
today, it hung up at the beginning with "Scanning.
Compress old files." How do I fix this??

Line 48, Right column "Disk Cleanup - Compress..."
Save on Desktop.
Double click the icon once downloaded.
The icon can then be discarded.

try one and/or both of these....
1-delete cookies/history/temp files...
2-logoff/logon...
