Disk Cleanup - Windows XP

When I start Disk Cleanup - Windows XP it appears to be
working, however it becomes locked and does not respond.

Is there a fix for this, short of reinstalling XP?

Hi Pablo,

If Disk Cleanup stops responding at "Scanning: Compress old files", follow
the instructions in this MSKB article to resolve the problem:
