Disk Cleanup does not complete

Hi, I have attempted to run "Disk Cleanup" located under
system tools several times and it will not proceed past
three bars. I am running window xp home edition on a dell
4600 series computer. I am not a techno wizard, just an
average user. How do I fix this problem?

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and
answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by right
clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
