Disk checker not working correctly

Hi!
When I run disk checker an error says - Cant open volume, disk check
stopping. volume used by something else.
Please can you help in easy stages?

Go to run type:cmd In cmd type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,then type:
EXIT Restart computer for the utility to run.For all cmds type:CHKDSK /?
