I just received my new computer this afternoon, but as I
was booting it up for the first time, I got the following
message:

"Disk Boot Failure. Please insert system disk and press
enter" Here's the kicker... I received no disks or cd
roms of any kind in the package. All the software was
supposed to be already installed on my PC.

I'm a little lost... can anyone help?

Was I supposed to get a windows XP back up disk?

First, make sure you don't have a disk in the floppy drive. If
that's OK, take the machine back where you purchased it from and have
them resolve the problem. While you're at it, ask them where the
recovery information is located. It may be a hidden partition on the
hard drive. Also ask if they will at least supply a recovery disk
for the system.

If you received your machine by mail order, it's possible a cable has
come loose inside the machine during shipment. Contact the mail order
customer service people for assistance.

Call the manufacturer, it's a new system and should not be giving this
error. It is probably damaged and needs replacement.
