Disconnect from RDC leaves users desktop at settings same as when in RDC

S

Steve Tanti

When I Remote Desktop a user, I have the background set
so it does not display.

Once I disconnect, the background of the PC stays off.
Same goes if I use a lower screen resolution when RDCing,
the user's desktop stays at that screen res/color depth.

The user must reboot their pc to restore their original
settings if screen res/color depth are changed from their
default.

Any ideas??? I couldn't find anything on this on Technet.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks

I am having the exact same problem but only with one of
the machines in my network. Can't figure out what the
problem could be, but it is very anoying to have to
reboot all the time.

I dont think I have heard anything like this before. What version of the
Remote Desktop Client (mstsc.exe) are you using? Try downloading the latest
client from this location -
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/rdclient dl.asp. See if that
fixes the problem.
