disc writing wizard stuck (estimated time to completion 3763 mins)

Hi all,

I'm trying to burn CD-Rs with XP's built-in Disc Writing Wizard.
Recently, in the first phase of writing ("Adding data to CD Image" or
something similar), it posts an adsurdly high time estimate (3763
minutes) and seems to do nothing.

Any ideas on how to get it "unstuck"? I've tried several different
jobs, rebooted, etc.

Oops, I should add that a freeware burning prog (CDBurnerXP Pro 3)
continues to work OK, so the CD-R ain't broken.

I figured it out, in case anyone googles up this old message. AVG, the
freeware virus protection program, seems to have been the culprit.
When it updated, it turned "Resident Shield" (the component which
attempts real-time protection) back on, and thus the disc writing
wizard was screwed.
