disc drive

Hello, my computer all of a sudden does not see my cd drive, also i cannot
open it.
Has anyone had this problem??
I am at a loss

If you can't see it and it looks completely dead then pop the case and make
sure the power cable hasn't come loose. Check that the ribbon cable is
securely in place at the same time.

If it still seems dead (for example it still won't open) then replace it. cd
drives do wear out and you can buy a new one relatively cheaply.
