Disappearing Wallpaper

I'm using Windows XP Pro here at work (not upgraded to
SP2 per our IT department)on my Dell Latitude laptop. I'm
having a problem with any wallpapers that I use for my
desktop. Usually at least 2 or 3 times a day they
completely disappear on me. It happens either when the
screensaver kicks in, or I lock my workstation by
pressing the Windows + L Key. Any ideas on what's going
on here, or where I might go for an answer? It's driving
me absolutely nuts! Thanks everyone.
