Disappearing programs

When I got on my computer this morning I had lost some of my programs that I
loaded. It looked like the computer restored itself back to when it was new.
That's kind of what the start menu looked like. I did a system restore back
two days and I got my programs back. Does anybody have any idea why this
happened?

Someone else have access to your computer, perhaps without your knowledge?

A virus can control your computer remotely, even if you think you've shut it
down.

I do have set up a wireless network so my daughter can use my desktop's
printer, and some shared folders. As far as my daughter doing anything I
doubt it. As far as my wireless network it is secure. No virus'es where
found on the last virus scan with norton.
