disappearing icons

Every morning, all but two of my icons disappear from my
desktop. And the icons on my toolbar disappear as well.
If I refresh, the desktop icons return, but I can't get my
toolbar icons unless I restart my computer. This is my
work computer and it is part of a network. Any clues as
to what is going on?

A common problem. Please refer to many --- and varied! --- past responses,
with instructions to resolve this issue. To start, from Google newsgroup

It seems it is not only limited to icons on the Desktop; those on the
Taskbar are also affected. Often too the Taskbar itself disappears. This
is believed to be a sequel to a damaged Windows Explorer, possibly from a
recent driver update..... Hence, a reconstruction is one answer.
