disappearing group

One of my users is a member of a group but every now and then the group
disappears from the properties of his account. He will be in the group for
a day or sometimes even half a day and then the group disappears and it has
tobe re-added in.

Any ideas why or how to stop this?

Hello,

Please give us more information about your environment,
How many DCs do you have? Are you in Windows 2000 Native Mode? How many
sites do you have?

What I can think about is replication, ensure the replication is fine, You
can use the repadmin tool in Windows Server Support tools found on the
Windows Server CD, with the syntax below:

repadmin /showreps /v

Did you ran repadmin, did it report any errors?

The same thing happens to me every now and then. It
usually occurs in a multi-site Windows 2000 environment.
If two administrators modify a group simultaneously on
two different DCs, one of the changes will be lost
because in 2000 AD the entire group replicates during
replication, not just the member or two that were added.
In 2003 this problem is fixed by replicating only the
member added instead of the entire group.
