I have been working with the Sierra Generations 5.2
genealogy program for years. Originally,I used the
Generations 5.2 program on my old computer that had
Windows 98 and everything worked fine. The computer that
I have now has Windows XP. In order for me to be able to
run Generations 5.2 on Windows XP,I had to go to a web-
site and download a patch to upgrade Generations 5.2 to
6.0. It worked really well for a long time.
Recently, whenever I add data to my family files, other
data start to disappear for reasons unknown. I thought
that maybe I had too much data in the file,so I split the
family file up into separate family groupings by copying
my original file and deleting families that I did not
want in the file. I still have the same problem of data
disappearing when I try to enter any additional
information. I don't know what to do outside of buying a
whole new genealogy program and re-entering all of the
data. That would be quite a job ,since I have over 2,000
people listed.
