Hi all,

I've tried for some time now to determine the solution to
the problem Im having but no luck.

I have a cable connection and run through a router. On
the properties of my NIC I have ticked the option
to "Show icon in notification area when connected" , this
usually works fine for a while when Ive just booted up.
After a while if I hover my mouse over the icon it
disappears but my connection remains, no problems there.

I can go back into the NIC properties and remove the tick
and then re-tick the option again and the icon reappears.

Any ideas what might be causing this behavior ?

I can rule out spyware, virus, or trojan without a doubt.

Thanks

Bryan,

In your Taskbar Properties, is "Hide inactive icons" checked? If so,
hit Customize, find the entry for Local Area Connection, and set it to
"Always show". Or clear "Hide inactive icons".

BTW, was that your actual email address in From:? Learn to munge
properly, to keep yourself a bit safer.

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

Thanks for the munge link.

Hide inactive icons was unchecked. Any other suggestions ?

Thanks
