disabling xml viewing facility in excel 2002

Hi,
while viewing the xml files, excel 2002 shows the file in
tag names as colum headers and their values below.

I have xhtml (with xml declaration) to be shown in excel
sheet. It is showing fine in excel 2002. but in 2002 it
shows as a xml file.
Can I disable this feature in excel 2002.

Maybe you meant Excel 2000 was okay?

Anyway, if using File, Open is causing the problem you might consider
copying and pasting your file into Excel. Say from Notepad.
