Disabling template preview in New Document dialog

Hi, I have a user running Word 2003 who has her 'User Templates' set to a
directory on a server. Whenever she clicks 'File/New...' then 'On my
computer' to create a new document, the Templates dialog box which comes up
will freeze for 15-20 seconds, with the preview to the right showing
'Working...'. She has to wait for the 'Preview not available' to show before
she can continue.
Is there a way to disable the Preview, as I figure it must have a little bit
of difficulty determining if the default selected template has a preview
image or not.

thanks

I hope you are not trying to share the User Templates folder? This would be
a recipe for disaster. That folder contains normal.dot which is not intended
to be shared. You should use the workgroup folder for shared document
templates.

There is no way to eliminate the preview window from the file > new dialog

Late response from me. I found the issue, it was actually a corrupt PDF
add-in. After reinstalling Adobe Acrobat 7, all was fine.
