Disabling Switch User

Whenever I lock my system (Win + L) I want it to be inaccessible to anybody
but me. This used to work in XP, but not in Vista. How can I disable the
Switch User function in Vista Home Basic? Any help will be much appreciated.

Since you won't have access to the Group Policy Editor in Vista Home
(only Ultimate or Enterprise versions of Vista have the Group Policy
Editor), you will have to use the Registry Editor (second method given
on the page).

This will make Fast User Switching unavailable from the Desktop or the
Start menu, but sadly, this hack will NOT work for the Welcome Screen:
It is not possible to do this for the Welcome Screen. User Switching
will still be available on the

My advice? Don't allow anyone other than yourself to have a User
Account on your machine. This should stop it completely, since a User
Account cannot be created from the Welcome Screen. It is simply not
possible to login without an account.

okay.. thanks.. I wanted to disable it for the welcome screen specifically. I
have to have multiple accounts as my sister uses this system too, but when
I'm using it I'd like to stop her from logging on if I step out for a minute
or so. Thanks for your time.
