Disabling Security

I have created a database with security for 1 department of my company.
Another department would like to have the database without the secrutiy on
it. I have copied the original database but I am having trouble removing the
password. I have tried clearing the Admin's password so I no longer have to
log in however the security still remains and when I try to change user
persmissions I keep receiving an error message telling me that I am not part
of the Admin groupd therefore I do not have the authority to change the
permissions. FYI the owner has changed to Unknown. Any help is appreciated
and I can re-start the process.

Thanks in advanced

Make sure you are joined to the default (and unmodified) system.mdw
workgroup file and create a new blank database file. Close this file and
open your secured db. Export all objects to the new file. The owner of the
objects in the new file should be "Admin".

How do I check teh defaul system.mdw workgroup file?
Thanks

Open Access, but don't open a database. Click Tools - Database Security - Workgroup Administrator. This will tell you
which workgroup you're joined to.

Alternatively, you can build a shortcut that opens Access with a specific workgroup. Just build the shortcut with a
Target like this:

"Full path to msaccess.exe" /wrkgrp "full path to your workgroup file"
