Disabling print test page

Ralph

For some reason, my Dell E1705 (Vista) automatically sends a request to my
Laser Jet 2200 to print a test page every time it come on, either from an
off status or hibernation. Frustrating as it wastes toner and paper.
Where do I go to disable this?

Thanks, Ralph

I suspect the cause is laptop computer since the printer is connected by
network to both the laptop and a desktop. Each separately. When I turn
on the desktop, nothing happens. When I turn on the laptop, a test sheet
is printed. It is the HP test sheet but I am convinced that it prints
because of the laptop booting. Sometimes I will have the desktop and
printer continuously on all day whereas the laptop will be on and off. And
I will be getting several test pages in the out tray.

But I will do as you suggest and see what happens.

That's going to be an HP driver issue, not a Vista issue. The driver itself
is sending the test page when it initializes, not Vista.

Your best bet is to contact HP about an updated driver, if available.
