disabling onboard video

Steve

What is the proper way to disable onboard video. I want
to install an All-In-Wonder VE card. I tried it once on a
windows 98 machine and I could not get the monitor to
display anything at all when plugged into the new video
card. Could it be because the onboard video was not
disabled properly? The new card's instructions said some
motherboard manufacturers don't allow onboard video to be
disabled. Anywsy I am about to try it on a win xp machine
and want to know for sure that I am doing it right.
Thank you for help.

use it in the BIOS, it should be in there to disable it, and then set your
BIOS there should also be an option to choose where to boot display from PCi
or AGP, choose apprpriate one.

do u know what mothr board u have?
