Disabling IPv6

FYI:

To disable IPv6 in Vista:

Use registry to access:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\tcpip6\Parameters\

Create key named:
DisabledComponents

Set key value to:
ff (in hex)

Or if you don't feel comfortable messing with the registry you can always
uncheck it from your NICs connection properties.

Your suggestion does not disable IPv6 on tunnel interfaces
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/network/ipv6/ipv6faq.mspx

Ah! I did not know that.

In the Network Connections folder, obtain properties on all of your
connections and adapters and clear the check box next to the Internet
Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6) component in the list under This connection
uses the following items.

This method disables IPv6 on your LAN interfaces and connections, but does
not disable IPv6 on tunnel interfaces or the IPv6 loopback interface.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Justin:

Note the following:

Hidden adapter for Teredo:
To see it:
Open Device Manager.
Click the view menu and select "Show hidden devices".
Should see "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface" listed under Network Adapters
