Hi, I am in a LAN with around 10 clients. My computer has a DSL
connection on which sharing is enabled. But I want to give access to
only 2 clients. However, all clients with an XP OS is able to connect
to the internet. How can i restrict sharing with selected users only?

Some routers can restrict access to the public internet based on the LAN
IP and/or MAC Address of the PC.

You also might look at a free tool like MSFT SteadyState program to lock
down the PCs.

If your in a domain environment you probably can also control this with
the use of a proxy. Others can comment on that or you can post to the
microsoft.public.windows.server.networking news group for possible help.

I forgot to add that normal users should be limited user (XP) or
standard users (Vista) and *NOT* have admin permissions. Require the use
of strong passwords for all users.

Restrict who has admin permissions on all the workstations, etc.
