disabling CD auto-play?

How do you disable CD drive auto-play? I already went to My Computer/D:
drive and Properties/AutoPlay tab and set for No Action, I even tried
prompt, but neither works! No matter what, when I put a CD in the drive, it
starts automatically installing. Please help, this is annoying.

It sounds like this is dependent on the particular CD you are placing in the
drive. I suspect it is an application CD as you said "it starts
automatically installing". Application CDs usually come with an Auto-Run
file which instructs it to start installing. Hold down the Shift key when
when closing the drawer and hold it for a few seconds after the system looks
at the CD.

yes, tweakUI will let you turn autoplay off completely, very handy.

I wonder why I couldnt disable the auto-play via My Computer as explained in
Help? That SHOULD have worked! Nonetheless, tweakui to the rescue!
