Disabling Auto Hyperlinking

When I type something like Meeting@10., excel generates
automatic hyperlink for the text. Its annoying as I have
lot of such incidents.

How can I disable this excel functionality and prevent
this hyperlinking to happen.

Also, if you delete the cell's contents, after it hyperlinking it for you,
the cell retains the underline format!!

I see that Autocorrect is for spelling corrections.

I dont see there a way to prevent excel from inserting a
hyperlink automatically when it sees a character
like "xyx@abc".

Please help.

Did you look at the middle tab where it says
"auto format as you type"
I am using xl2002
