DisablePagingExecutive, LargeSystemCache, IOPageLockLimit, and QoS

I read an article that said I can greatly increase the preformace of my home
windows xp computer by doing the following in the registry:
1. Set DisablePagingExecutive to 1
2. Set LargeSystemCache to 1
3. Create a new DWORD value named, IOPageLockLimit and set it to 40000
4. Open GPedit.msc, and set "Limit reservable bandwidth to 0%", from the QoS
Packet Scheduler option.

I'm pretty skeptical whether these setting will actually make my comptuer
run faster, or whether they are just superstition, I'm hoping that someone
here will know.

4. It uses 0% unless something needs QoS.
1-3 may make your machine faster but is more likely to make it slower.

Thanks for clearing up that myth.
