Disabled Firewall

Each time I connect to the internet my firewall becomes
disabled. I have tested this several times. I have
Windows XP and use Earthlink. Can anyone help?

How do you connect to Earthlink? Are you using WinXP's built-in
dial-up networking, or a proprietary connection utility provided by
the ISP? If the latter, get rid of it and use WinXP's DUN.
