Disabled by your administrator

Hi Guys
I have been using XP on my system for ages with very few
problems but over the last couple of days my account which has full
administration rights will not allow me to change settings.
I get an error message telling me the XXX has been disabled by your
administrator.

The Admin account works fine so can anyone shed any light on why this has
happen and better still a cure.

Many thanks

Try entering the Safe mode to see if still got the issue. Make a
another Admin account and see if this will resolve your issue.

I had something similar happen to me a few months ago. I suspect it might
have been some kind of malware from a website, but I found myself suddenly
being denied access to things. The first thing I noticed was the Run command
disappeared from my start menu. IIRC when I tried to change the startmenu
settings I was denied, which made me realise something was up.

I noticed my changes almost immediately and hadn't reboot since the changes,
I used system restore and have had no surprises since, though now I'm not
sure which machine it was on, and never investigated it further at the time.
I assume I prevented the malware from infecting my system properly.

Sorry I can't offer a real solution.
