Disable formatting marks in Outlook 2002

Would greatly appreciate advice for the following...composed emails now
contain the paragraph mark and I would like to eliminate that. Can
anyone instruct me how to do this?

Since formatting marks appear only when you're using Word to compose your
mail, this is a Word, not an Outlook question. Click Tools>Options>View and
uncheck the "Paragrah marks" box.
