When the power goes out or XP freezes for a while, you
restart your computer and after the boot screen you have
see the checkdisk thing starting. I need to know a way to
disable it or shut it off permantly or just this time.

Any advice would be nice. Thanks -Matt

Matt,

If you loose power or do not perform a clean shutdown you run the risk of
the hard disk being in an inconsistent state that can lead to loss of data
or malfunction of the opertaing system.
You should not skip a chkdsk in those circumstances.
