disable CD-Rom

My teenager loads all types of programs into my computer
which I often use for business. Many times the programs
are not legal and many time they conflict with other
programs and it takes me forever to rid the bugs. On a
Windows XP pro system is there a easy way to disable the
CD-Rom. Should I do this as an "administrator" so it
cannot be easily changed back except by me? Thanks.

.
right click on my computer>>hardware>>select your
device>>disable it.

Yes, do it as an admin.

The answer is simple, and may sound mean but, you stop your teenager from
using your computer completely and build him a new one ! You can build a
decent socket A based sytem box for around £200-£300 and with a decent 17"
monitor costing around just 60-80 quid, surely it would be worth the money !
