Disable CD burning

We would like to disable the feature of windows XP CD buring option. But CD
reading option should not get disabled. This we want to do it for the users
in the domain other than Administrator privilages.

You need to remove the Cd Writer and put in a an ordinary CD-ROM drive.
You can't disable the functions of CDs.

In Saravanan.A - SSIPL had this to say:

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

Use the snap-in to pass down the settings via GPO to the user's groups and
make it only apply to the members of the user's group but not apply to
admins. For AD that should work?

It's under user config > admin templates > windows explorer > remove CD
burning features

If it's not in AD but using roaming profiles you *may* need to find some
sort of script to get it to do that and force that on log-on.
