Disable CD auto-play

In Win98 one could disable CD autoplay, and also prevent
the Explorer pop-up screen from appearing whenever a CD
was inserted, by checking "disable auto-insert
notification" under the device properties in Device
Manager. However this option doesn't seem to be available
in WindowsXP. Is there some way of disabling this
function in XP?
 
Download TweakUI for XP. You can then control the Auot-Play easier than
with registry hacks.
 
Run 'gpedit.msc' and drill down to Computer (or User)
Configuration/AdministrativeTemplates/System. Enable 'DisableAutoplay on
CDROM drives'.
