disable autoscan ... how?

On windowsxp, how can i disable autoscandisk-on-reboot whenever
improper shutdown/power failure occurs?

and run chkdsk / f at command prompt after booting the system to boot prompt

Right click in My Computer | Properties | Advanced | Startup and Recover
Settings | Remove the tick mark in Automatically restart. Also might as
well set debugging information to None.
