I just can't believe the feature is a fault with my driver - this
happens in a lot of windows and actually tries to save the user from
having to horizontally scroll (in fact the horz scroll bar isn't even
shown!), hidden content in to view!
Looks like I'm going to have to live with it then - many thanks to all
that replied anyway!
Hi Ya'll:
I have read this thread and to be honest, I think the original author
and I are the only one's that are sane and the rest of you are el
loco. I have an Acer 9300 Aspire notebook, running Windows Vista
Home Basic, and I am about this far | - | from trashing it.
I HATE THE AUTO SCROLLING FEATURE!!!!!!!!!
I don't care if I am on the web, in a file or in a folder, horizontal
or vertical scrolling takes off without me so much as breathing on it
when I move my mouse. One second I'm looking at what I want and
BANG! The next I'm at the bottom, top, sides of what it was that I
was lookling at.
I can't use AutoCad or Alibre 3D modeling as a result. One second I
have a perfect model/display and the next it's either gone, double the
size, or horribly mangled.
What was once a five-minute document to create in MS Word is now 15-
minute nightmare as I have to keep fighting the auto scroll feature to
allow me to get back to where I was in my document.
If I am on my desktop and select multiple icons to move, I.E. I hold
down the CTRL key and select each icon, all of a sudden this auto
scroll thingy appears and makes all of my icons either increase or
decrease in size. Once they were so small, I had to put my glasses
on to read them. Eventually I did a very careful reverse engineer
process to get them back to the larger size. I selected a ground of
ions and some how got this auto scroll thing to come out and increase
their size. I don't need my glasses now, but wow, what big icons you
have Grandpa!
Where's Bill Gates??????
I have had to restore my icons manually so many times it is not funny
any more. On top of that, gone is ithe feature to just right click on
the desktop and select auto-arrange. At least that would put the
icons back in a group and not have them scatterred all over the place,
regardless of their sise. I can deal with that.
So if anyone on this thread says they have not seen it, they're blind
in one eye and can't see out of the other!
I have been very patient with Microsoft and have hoped that they will
come up with fixes to make VISTA more human friendly. My patience is
running thin.
Tony
