Hi. I want to disable the splash screen for a small utility I have in
my Startup folder. I know you click on the shortcut icon and add 'no
splash' to the Target line, but I forget if it goes before or after the
'.exe, where the / goes and what the proper spacing is.
Can someone give me a reminder?
Thanks folks. deango.

However, I was looking for how to disable ANY splash screen, not
WindowsXP. Thanks.

It depends on the program. The nosplash switch may or may not work. It may
not be possible to disable the splash screen. You might try a web search
for the program with the added query of disable "splash screen".

I remember an older utility that would allow you to hide splash screens
for programs but I seem to recall it being somewhat buggy. I don't have a
link though.

Hi Kelly. I'm pretty sure I need the same disable information that is
used for disabling the splash screen for Zone Alarm . Do you know that
one? Thanks. deango

No, I don't. Shouldn't be that difficult to find via the www. However,
here is an example as to how program specific they are:

"\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\NoSplash"

it would be
whatever.exe /nosplash
if they are using the usual convention

Thank you Alex. That works. Kelly did give me something to check
("\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\NoSplash") and I will check it
out for future reference.....Thanks. deango
