DirectX 9.0b

I have tried four times to update from DirectX 9.0a to
9.0b. The download from Windows Update seems to load and
run OK and tells me when it has finished that I now have
9.0b installed. However, when I run DXDIAG the
information on the first screen tells that I have 9.0a
(4.09.0000.0901) still running on my system with no sign
that it's been updated to the latest version.

If anybody can help me to solve this I would really
appreciate it.

From what I understand, it fixes a number of security flaws.
