DirectX 9.0b won't install, gives this error

Hi,
I've been trying to install DirectX 9.0b on my PC and
every time I try installing it, it gives me this error:

"Software Installation

The software you are installing has not passed Windows
Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP.
{tell me why this testing is important.)

This software will not be installed. Contact your system
administrator."
-

So what am I supposed to do to install this software on
my pc? I need it to run Halo:Combat Evolved...

What version of xp are you running. I have directx9.0b too and it works
perfectly on xp home.
