DirectX 9.0 problems!!!

I am trying to install DirectX 9.0b on 2 different
computers running Windows XP. I keep getting an error
saying:

"The software you are installing has not passed the
Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with
Windows XP. (Tell me why this testing is important.)

This software will not be installed. Contact your system
administrator."

I get this error using both the DirectX 9.0 supplied with
my software and using the link direct from microsoft.com.

Is there any way I can fix this problem?

Any help is appreciated. My 4yo son really wants to play
this game. (Hotwheels World Race from THQ.)

Hi SirMel,

Here are a few solutions for the DirectX 9 "Logo Testing" error:

1. Click Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services
Scroll down to "Cryptographic Services", double click it and
change Startup type to: Automatic and click the "Start" button.

2. If you haven't installed SP1 yet, download and Install it from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...79-fa3a-48bf-ade5-023443e29d78&DisplayLang=en

3. The resolution at the bottom of this page worked for some users:

4. If the problem persists, go to c:\windows\system32 and rename
the catroot2 directory to catrootold. Catroot2 might be too full.

5. Save and then Open the "DX9 Logo Error" patch on Line 189
for WinXP at: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

6. Repairing Windows is our final option. Boot from your Windows
CD (you may have to press F12 while starting up, or change the
bootup order in your BIOS) and then follow the instructions at:
